Yangshuo and the Firewall

We've made it out of mainland China to Hong Kong, so we are able to update our blog.  Apparently China blocks all blogging sites and as soon as I posted about Nanning, our site was then blocked. Here in HK there are no firewall restrictions (it is known online as the Great Firewall of China). So after we leave HK in a couple days we may not be able to post anything until we get to Mongolia - unless we come up with some kind of work around.

Enough of the boring stuff, and onto some karst formations! China is known for karst formations, which are made out of limestone. Yangshuo is a huge domestic tourism destination to view these amazing peaks, and we happened to be in Yanghuo during the second busiest Chinese holiday.  So it was packed.  It rained every day we were there, but we were fortunate enough that the day we rented bikes, the rain held off until the evening.  We had a great time, despite the weather.

Very busy!

We have one more post planned while we are in Hong Kong, but if you don't hear from us for a couple weeks after that, it is due to the Great Firewall of China!
